Lake District Guided Walks: Little Langdale | Cathedral Quarry | Hodge Close
Little Langdale is a stunning valley just west of Ambleside and north of Coniston. It is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery rising on all sides around Little Langdale Tarn. This is a guided walk showing the route to Little Langdale Tarn and over the beautiful 16th Century Slater Bridge to Cathedral Quarry. Sometimes known as Cathedral Cave the quarry is a vast open chasm with a cathedral like feel inside. The route follows a track to Hodge Close and takes in the dramatic open quarry which plunges over 100ft into icy dark waters.
